Compatibility

Does Kyvenza run on Intel Macs?

No. Kyvenza uses Apple's Virtualization Framework, which requires Apple Silicon. Intel Macs are not supported and never will be. You need an M1, M2, M3, or M4 series Mac.

What's the minimum macOS version?

macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later.

Can I run Windows?

Windows on ARM is not officially supported in this release. Kyvenza focuses on macOS arm64 and Linux arm64 guests.

Can I run x86_64 Linux?

Not natively — Apple Silicon virtualization does not emulate Intel. Use arm64 (aarch64) Linux distributions.

Installation

macOS says "Kyvenza can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software"

This is Gatekeeper's first-run prompt. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the message about Kyvenza, and click Open Anyway.

Do I need to install Lume separately?

No. Kyvenza ships with a pinned version of Lume inside the app bundle. A system-installed copy of Lume is ignored. See Diagnostics if you want to remove a previous manual install.

VMs

How many VMs can I create?

The Free tier allows up to 3 VMs in your library. Pro is unlimited. See Free vs Pro.

Does deleting a VM free the disk space?

Deleting from the sidebar removes the VM from Kyvenza's library but does not automatically delete the image files on disk. Remove the VM folder under your storage path manually if you need to reclaim space.

Why can't I change CPU or memory while the VM is running?

Those fields are live only while the VM is stopped. Stop the VM, edit, then start again.

Licensing

Where do I buy Pro?

At kyvenza.com.

I lost my license key.

Email support@kyvenza.com from the address used at purchase.

Can I use one license on two Macs?

License keys are tied to an email address. One active machine at a time is the intent. Contact support if you are moving between Macs.

Privacy

Does Kyvenza collect data?

Analytics and crash reporting are off by default. You can enable either in Settings → General; both are anonymous. Read the full privacy policy.
